Lisa Tagesson
Lisa Tagesson is a visual artist and working with installations, craft-workshops and collaborations. Series of works are exhibited through mixed-media installations, incorporating found objects, sculptures, embroideries, drawings, photography and texts elements. By creating her own fabrics, as well as manipulating existing ones, unique methods are developed. Through handstitching the fabric is shaped, so that it has a special relationship to the space or to a form. The dyed layers on the textiles are applied as a reference to what Tagesson regards as valuable heritage from her selected experiences. Patterns of images and symbols are woven together, providing a skeletal structure to the piece. The work stems out of a fascination with variations within repetitions, with orders and with disorders, and with the patterns and singularities that comprise them. The embroidery work includes documentary presentations and materialized thoughts from people’s daily lives. It connects the past, hidden history of traditions, with our present life. Kontakt
