CONNECTING 2011 – 2012
Contemporary Arts and Crafts by 40 artists
in Germany, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden
Connecting is a cross-border project and touring exhibition of contemporary art. Over the two years 40 craft artist from five countries, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Norway and Finland, meet in a series of exhibitions, lectures and open workshops. Each stop will have a program different from the other.
Connecting bridges between tradition and innovation, covering all areas within the arts and crafts: jewelry and metal, unique objects and installations of ceramic, glass, wood, textiles and paper.
The initiative was taken by a group of artists from the organization Berufsverband Kunsthandwerk in Schleswig-Holstein in Germany. Museumsberg in Flensburg was the starting point for the tour.
This summer the exhibition can be seen in Akershus Kunstsenter in Lillestrøm, Norway, and later this year at Österbottens museum in Vaasa, Finland. In spring 2012 Connecting continues to Augustiania Skulpturpark och Kunstcenter, Augustenborg, Denmark.
The grand finale will take place in Landskrona Konsthall, Skåne, just in time for summer 2012.

All 40 participants are affiliated to member organizations for professional practitioners in the craft and applied art field in each country. Eight craft artists and KHVC members from south Sweden are selected to take part in the project.
